Very cool photos; thanks for sharing them. :) I'm jealous of his record collection!

I just started reading The Abortion by Richard Brautigan, which is very good so far. It's about a man who works in a library of unpublished books and the girl he falls in love with. It actually has a very Murakami-like mood to it. I'm also still reading Don DeLillo's The Names, which is pretty good but the pace is starting to drag a little. I need to reread some of my Murakami books! Once I get through my current stack of books, I'm going to try to either stick to rereading my old books or reading public domain books, because I spent too much cash on books this year!

What about you--have you been reading anything enjoyable lately?

Where did you find the one from the 1970s?! Murakami is so transparently veiled in his narrators; that picture is great.

I did the magic thing of googling the name 村上春樹, hehe. I think the first one was originally in the New York Times. I think the other two were on a Taiwanese website.

it's nice to look at a different picture of murakami than the one that often appears at the back of the english translated novels. that one makes him look too severe. haha!

Oh man, that record collection...

My uncle who lives in Hong Kong has a fairly big record and laser disc collection (especially big for a guy who lives in a standard HK apartment). He said he was thinking of getting rid of some, and I told him he's not allowed to without letting me check them out first. I want his Michael Jackson LPs.
